The SBM project establishes a new program that supports both research and education that focus on science-based management of natural resources, advanced research of the eastern Mediterranean Sea ecology and environment issues in this region.
The principal research theme is focused on understanding the mechanisms that lay at the foundation of human-driven environmental change biology and biodiversity. This is a pioneering study on Mediterranean Israeli waters to try and understand the mechanisms that drive the massive change we have been witnessing for the past three decades, but with much more force this past decade alone. This project will also include an ecology based conservation (EBC) apparatus that is intended to merge the data layer with the conservation and management level following EBC principals.
